We Got Hacked, But We’re Back

untitled shoot-003

It makes our blog seem WAYYYY cooler than it actually is when I say that we were hacked and shutdown for a few days, maybe a week. I’m not the brains behind this operation, so I don’t really know what it means. Here’s what I do know:

1. We were hacked and Barry said he needed about 5 hours to fix it.

2. We have young kids and 5 hours to work on something that isn’t really ‘work’ does not exist.

3. Barry is a miracle worker and un-hacked the site.

4. So, to the 4 people that read our blog…..let’s do a virtual high-five.

That about sums it all up. Christmas is almost here and we’re pretty set. We’re waking up in our own home this year and I’m pretty excited about it. Kids make Christmas awesome.

Raking Up the Fallen Leaves

Our yard has some gigantic trees in it that put on the most spectacular show a couple seasons of the year. The person that owned the house before us (or maybe it was before the people we bought it for) had a deep, deep love for trees and many shrubs. I love it because we have a totally private backyard experience and once you’re in our home, it’s easy to forget about the rest of the world.

That said, every Fall and early Winter, we are faced with our entire yard being covered in leaves….and Barry has started calling the task of raking up the leaves his ‘life’s work’….which I find both funny and sad. Because there are so many leaves!!!  He (it wouldn’t be fair to act like it is a ‘we’ statement because he does 90% of the raking….) has really stayed on it and now that almost all the leaves are off the trees, we can celebrate Winter.
