S’More Fun

We have an amazing fire pit area in our backyard that hardly gets the use that it deserves. We’ve got lights strung up that turn on each night and call our name, but it usually looks most appealing right as the girls are melting and ready for bed. A couple weekends ago, we stayed home all weekend and had a late afternoon campfire and s’mores in the pit and it was a nice reminder how nice our yard is and what fun s’mores can be. I’m sure we’ll be out there again sooner rather than later…..because the ‘mallow roasters have yet to be put completely away….

Maggie Turns Four: Part Two

s birthday table

Our girls are lucky enough to have a very, very large circle of people that care very deeply for them. Many of these people live within driving distance of us and we get to see them frequently (or maybe some might say not enough?) and for that we’re blessed. When it came time to plan Maggie’s family birthday celebration, and realizing that it fell on Easter, I felt the need to make sure that we had a sit-down meal all together.

I have many great memories from my childhood of both sets of grandparents, and extended family,  celebrating Mother’s Day together, and it’s nice that we can give that same sense of family-connectedness to my girls as well. Many of our very favorite people came and helped to celebrate our girl on her birthday. My friend Nicole graciously provided salmon that her husband caught just a few days before, the local bakery made Maggie’s cake, and most everybody else filled in between. I joked that I out-sourced everything, and I’m well aware that everybody helped, provided and made the day especially special.

I’ve got one more batch of pictures from this day to share….they’re too sweet not to be their own post.

Friday, I’m Glad You’re Here

My phone may or may not have been ‘dipped’ in the Sandy Lagoon by Audrey yesterday….I didn’t actually see anything happen, but my phone was a bit wet and ‘somebody’ (Maggie) told me she tried as hard as she could to get to it before it got all the way wet. Either way, my phone is out of commission (sitting in a bag of rice) for a bit and I’m okay with that. Kind of nice, really.

Also, I think the girls have used an entire box of band-aids for whatever bump or owie they think they have.

And my time is done.

I’m getting poked in the belly by Augie and I best get going.
