It sounds like Natalie Maines will be joining the Dixie Chicks for their short, short tour and they won’t be needing the talents of Hatalie Elaines any time soon.

This doesn’t make me sad because I think that Natalie sounds WAY better than Hatalie, but I am shocked that the Dixie Chicks won’t be coming within a billion miles of  Seattle.

I wonder if it is because Hatalie Elaines is rumored to live in the Pacific Northwest. Hmmmmm…..

Anyhow, anybody up for a road trip to Chicago in June with a teeny, tiny baby?

Yesterday my parents came to town to enjoy a birthday dinner with Barry, my Grandma & Grandpa Elvrum, and me. They also delivered some delightful birthday presents and were extremely generous.

Unfortunately, one of them just didn’t seem to fit with the others.

My dad seemed a bit too happy when I opened this portion of their gift. I know 30 is pushing it and I’ve got some grey hairs, but REALLY?

Fortunately, earlier in the day some beautiful flowers arrived on HBHQ’s door step from my sweet, sweet friend Kara. Aren’t they just spectacular?

I woke up this morning with an itchy throat and Barry sweetly made me a smoothie, it was delicious and helped soothe the scratch. As my day progressed, I became chilly, achy and downright sick felling.

We were supposed to go to a surprise birthday party for my uncle (Happy Birthday, Steve) but instead we’re at home and I’ve been cuddled into a ball feeling cold.

I’m determined to wake up tomorrow – the day of our departure for our weekend getaway – and have a bit of a bounce in my step. I will feel better!!

As for now, I’m up out of bed and am making the transition to the couch to watch a little tube.

Blah.
