Who Needs Sleep?

There was a short, short time that our little family was on the same page with this whole sleeping thing. Sydney was happy to saw logs at the foot of our bed, Maggie dozed consistently from ten to four, and Barry and I happily accepted that.

We should have thrown a huge slumber party and thanked our lucky stars because all that has flown out the window. Our sweet little 6 month old and the Tubby Torpedo have banded together to ensure Barry and I don’t get a full night’s sleep, I just know it.

On one hand, I appreciate the stillness that the night offers, but on the other hand I LOVE how I feel waking up after a somewhat restful night of sleep. I keep telling myself that this is just a phase and there will be a time when I’ll look back and laugh.

It is hard to be grumpy in the morning when this is what we wake up to:

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

My friend Charlyn said it would start happening around 3 months and, boy, was she right! My hair is falling out at such a quick pace that had I not been warned, I’d be worried.

I keep thinking that the clumps will stop coming out and that my shower drain won’t clog up, but each shower brings more and more hair at the bottom of the tub.

Some people might think that I could afford to lose a strand or two, but I secretly love my thick hair and am not ready to tout a head of wispy curls.

Woe is me, woe is my hair.

Tidbits of an Excuse

Even though today is Maggie’s 3 month birthday, the slide show portion is not ready. Last night, in the middle of dinner, I decided to rearrange our living room and Maggie had a HUGE crankfest. I spent the better part of today putting our house back together.

Plus, we went and met the Merkle crew for a picnic dinner tonight. Cameron informed Barry that the ‘sticky tree’  in the fort at the park is to catch bad guys and that there is also a balcony to watch t.v. or movies. Forts have gotten so much more cool since I was a kid. Connor is enamored with Sydney, so we just had to make sure they got to spend some time together.

I am determined to complete the slide show tomorrow. This morning when Barry left for work he requested that I don’t bust out a big painting job or some other home improvement shenanigan. I think after the whole shower incident a couple weeks ago he is deserving of a break.
