Greatest costumes i’ve seen today

8:30 a.m: I passed an alien on a skateboard. Helmet and all.

8:35 a.m: made it to the office to see spider man washing windows a couple blocks away. Unfortunately, it’s too far away to get a good picture.

The costumes have started with a bang.

5:30 p.m: Sadly, not one more notable costume was spotted. I’m hoping they’ll come back out when the sun goes down.

This seems to be a good place to note that there should be a costume party taking place at HB headquarters tonight (I would be open to suggestions for a cooler name for our house). I’ll try and update the timeline a couple times throughout..

8:00 p.m: people start arriving at the house. Costume pictures are below.

8:05 p.m: Adam realizes his keg costume doesn’t do a great job of holding his favorite beverages. He tries to repair with glue. Results are mixed at best.

8:45 p.m: full house. It’s becoming obvious we have a seating problem. There aren’t nearly enough chairs for people to sit comfortably and have conversations. This will need to be addressed before the next gathering.

10:30 p.m: Hannah convinced everyone it’s time for a game. Hoopla is picked out. Probably a good choice. The rules are pretty easy and everyone gets to play.

1:00 a.m: All the guests have departed. Not a single trick or treater stopped by. Next year we don’t need to to buy 5 bags of candy.

Candle Party

Candles are nice to have around the house. Very relaxing, great smelling and all that, but if you leave them unattended they could be dangerous or at least very messy.

Baby Gifts Galore

I make no secret of the fact that I love getting packages in the mail. So, I was pleased when I came home last Friday to discover a package waiting for me on my front stoop. It looked important and highly perishable. Sadly, it was not addressed to me. After fighting the temptation to open it, I called the number on the box and spoke to the people at Rice to Riches. After confirming that the package was meant for the former owners of our house, we were told to keep the product.

Barry and I instantly opened the box, only to notice that there was a card with a congratulatory message about a baby in it. (Yay, for the little family that we bought our house from, they have a new family member!) We also discovered a few ice packs, an oval green container, and a few special scoopers. We were new owners of rice pudding, sent directly from New York City!

Our friends, Rayna and Jon, came over that night and helped us eat some of the creamy puddin’. Barry wasn’t entirely sold on the taste and texture of the pudding, but I really liked it. There was fresh fruit mixed in….oh, deliciousness. Jon was also attacked by Sydney, she’s such a vicious dog.

Here’s the best part of the whole story: We had steak delivered to our door today.
