When Grandpa Stops By

Barry’s dad stopped by to visit Mags and drop off a few things this past week. Maggie had just woken up from her nap, so she was a bit out of sorts at first. Eventually she warmed up and they got to play together for a while. The Mags is adored by all her grandparents and I love how tiny she looks next to Greg because I feel like she’s getting HUGE!

Happy Saturday to you! We’re getting together with some friends, and getting outside!

Cousin Dinner @ The Hoot House

My cousin Cora lives in Bellingham in an old house that is called The Hoot House. For Christmas Cora invited all the Elvrum cousins/spouses to enjoy a fancy-pants dinner in The Ham at The Hoot House. We donned our dress up clothes and headed up to Bellingham a few weeks ago to get together with everyone. The dinner guests included us, Chach, Phil, Genevieve, and Skrange (a.k.a. Izak). Cora and Chaya are our only cousins on my dad’s side.

It was probably the first time EVER that all the Elvrum cousins have been together without parental or grandparental figures making sure we’re not bickering or doing dangerous stunts. We used some of the time to tell funny stories about our parents and grandparents, which is easy to do if you’ve ever met any of them.

I convinced everyone to play a game that was a version of what Barry and I played at Game Night recently, it turned out to be really fun. Although my brothers tend to keep telling a joke about 9 more sentences beyond the punch line, we all laughed a ton. I think that we need to make the Cousins Dinner more of a regular thing because, like I said, this is the first time EVER that we’ve all been together without those other generations.

Yay for cousins!

P.S. I love the top photo! Too bad Skrange has his eyes closed.

Maggie Loves Sydney

Waking up at our house is sometimes a relaxing experience. We often have nice music playing and good smells filling up our home. Other times waking up at HBHQ is the opposite of relaxing. Sometimes there are tears and bad smells.

More often than not Mags wakes up making happy noises and likes to contemplate her day for a few minutes before she busts out of bed. I’m kind of the same way, it takes me a second to wake up. Barry is a combo of both, sometimes relaxing for a second or two and sometimes his feet are already moving before they have hit the floor.

Sydney, on the other hand, the poor, lazy dog, doesn’t get a chance to decided if she is going to wake up slow or get a move on. This is due to the fact that Miss Maggie “I  Love My Dog”  Miller has decided that spending her first moments after waking with Syd are a great way to start a day. Sydney has yet to be totally convinced.
