I’ve been really, really wanting burgers lately. Tasty, delicious burgers.
Since Dick’s Drive In isn’t located right outside our front door, Barry has been kind enough to cook me some equally delicious burgers.
Sadly, his most recent experience ended (or had to be moved indoors) after he ran out of propane. I’m lucky because My Man understand the importance of getting the pregnant lady (that’s me!) her meat!!!
Last Thursday Hannah, Brian, and I met up with my dad to go watch cousin Ross’ football game. He plays outside linebacker for the Everett high school C team. The game went about how I thought it would and the high school football experience from a fan’s perspective was about how I remembered it.
What I had forgotten about were the officiating crews. Back in high school I somehow was able to land a job working on the chain gang for the home C and JV football games at BEHS.
I’m quite certain there are striped jerseys hanging from the gym rafters at the school in honor of our crew’s professionalism and efficiency. Yet, somehow I had forgotten about the chain gang ever being a part of my life.
I wonder if Hannah would be ok with me seeking part time employment as a football official. It is, after all, a tough economic environment and I have past experience to draw from.
The other evening we were walking Sydney around our neighborhood and I smelled the most delicious steak cooking on somebody’s grill. I typically don’t eat a lot of meat and have really never, ever enjoyed a steak, but the smell of this steak was too much for me to handle. I wanted my own steak.
So, we’ve invited Chaya, Brian, Izak and the other Brian over for Steak Night at HBHQ tonight. It just wouldn’t be a super special Steak Night with out some family to round it out, right? I can’t wait. I just want one delicious bite of a steak dipped in steak sauce. Just one.
