We’re All Posers

I’ve tried to make it a goal to get pictures of our little family every month since Maggie was born and it has become a fun challenge to find a moment where we don’t look too much like wild, disheveled misfits.  Looking at the following collection of pictures two things seem to be apparent: 1. We obviously have a “pose” that we use and I like to stand to Barry’s left more often than not. 2.  Only one picture of us was taken inside.

I thought that I’d only try to do this for Maggie’s first year, but, like her chair portraits, I’ve decided to continue to force these posed pictures. Sometimes it can be a bit awkward asking somebody to maneuver my camera, but I am so thankful that I’ve got this collection of pictures. And for the record, we totally look like wild, disheveled misfits sometimes….and I’m fine with that.

The Training Machine’s Fan Club

Barry has become a training machine these past weeks: swimming, biking, running, swimming, biking, running. When he comes home, Maggie and Sydney follow him around waiting for a few hugs and pets, letting him know that they’re glad he’s back. Maggie instantly starts babbling to him about her adventures and Sydney usually finds a toy or two with the intent of getting a game going. He always listens and always gives in to the game.

Trying to keep those two away from him is nearly impossible, they adore the guy. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel the same way. As he continues to train (and work on some super awesome tan lines) I have no doubt that Maggie and Sydney will perfect their cheerleading moves to encourage him in the coming weeks. I’ll have to see if they’ll let me in on some of the action, but between the two of them there isn’t much room.

Breaking News: We Went on a Date!!!!

My parents stopped by on their way home and we got to go out to dinner and eat sushi!!! It was just last night that I was saying to Barry that I just wanted to go out to dinner with him and have some uninterrupted conversation. It was as if my mom and dad could read my thoughts!!!

After we got home, and my parents headed to their house, we started to play with our new computer and the iChat program. Here is the video of the second part of our conversation that we recorded. We recorded it because we’re total nerds and we’re sharing it because we’re Super Duper Nerds and we like to save things on our blog. So, if you don’t want to watch it – don’t.

It was the second time that I asked Barry about our date, so don’t think that he’s ignoring me or something. Also, please ignore the part where I think I get scary, turn into a comic book and if you can swing it also ignore my high-pitched voice.

Clearly, we need some new hobbies around here.
