We Like it That Way

At first when Josh sent us these pictures I had a moment where I wished that we would have been dressed in something other than stripes, plaid and an orange jumper. But then I reminded myself that we’d look somewhat ridiculous in a matchy-matchy get up because we aren’t really like that anyhow.

We’re a stripes and plaid family through and through and there isn’t much purpose trying to act like otherwise. Plus, what really matters is that we’ve got these pictures to capture our life right now and look how happy we are. The only thing missing is a lazy Pug named Sydney.

Plus, this is exactly what Maggie looks like when she is super pumped up about something and letting out a high-pitched squeal. Look at her face – she is happy as a tiny clam. Well, a clam that is still in the 90th percentile for height and weight.

See, she doesn’t care if we’re wearing matching outfits or even matching patterns. She just cares that we’ve got index fingers to hold on to and smiles to match with her loud squeals.

Next time that we have Josh take our pictures – and there will be many, many more times – I’m going to remember how much I love these photos, because it isn’t the stripes, plaid and orange that makes us smile, being together is enough for us.

Plus, black and white is always an option!

Maggie the Maestro

Maggie got her first piano today and is rockin’ out on it, which is really quite darling. We went on a walk this morning and almost got taken down by a flying pine cone – due to the high winds. It is definitely Fall here, which means that Maggie’s piano music will be great to listen to on these  windy, rainy days.

Sydney, however, is not impressed with the glorious piano music or the rainy weather. Just last night she bullied Barry out of bed to go outside and wouldn’t even step off the porch. She is such a fair-weather dog.

Barry is currently working with Maggie to incorporate some vocals with her piano playing….sounds interesting, to say the least.

I’ll Let You In on a Little Secret…

Barry has discovered aqua socks and I think he might love them. I don’t mind because back in 6th grade I knew how glorious aqua socks could be and I’ve never forgotten.

In all honesty, Barry accidently wore the aqua socks out to the car on the way to the beach and so he was kind of forced to wear them for majority of our beach-lovin’ day.

When we arrived at the beach, Barry and I were able to go snorkeling while Maggie snooze it up under the watchful eye of her grandparents, uncle and pseudo aunt.

By the time we got out of the water, Maggie was pretty much ready to take a quick dip in the water. So, we did the only thing we knew: squeezed her little body into a tiny bodysuit.

If you look closely at the photo above, in all it’s sweetness you might miss the aqua socks. Glad I’m here to point them out for you.

After we splished and splashed we wrapped it up at the beach, headed home for a tiny bit and then headed to the market for some fresh, fresh fruit.

In case you are wondering, Barry did not wear the aqua socks to the market.
