My Husband Inspires Me

I try not to gush too much about My Man, but sometimes I just can’t help it. After getting back from our road trip and spending a couple days without him, I realize how much fun we have together and how much I love being around him. barry-bike

Hearing Edwina Hayes’ “Feels Like Home” song in My Sister’s Keeper, I was reminded how much I love that song. Yesterday was Barry’s first day back at work and I spent part of the day puttering around our house blasting this song over and over.

Not only did it feel good to be home, but I realized that being with him on our trip felt like home. He feels like home to me.  Our life is one that I love.

Yesterday I awoke to the smell of pancakes and quiet sounds in the kitchen as Barry prepared his pre-ride-16-miles-to-work meal. I popped out of bed and announced that I too was going on a bike ride.

After finding my bike under the cobwebs and dust, I tried to inflate my own tires knowing that Barry was enjoying his fruit-covered mountain of goodness. Of course, I let more air out of the tire than I put in. I didn’t have to say a word and Barry patiently explained the art of putting air into a bike tire while checking my bike.

I listened, but mostly I just admired his patience, kindness and super-rockin’ bike outfit.

I sure do love that guy.
