Monday Morning Blues

I don’t know why I feel like Mondays are always recovery days around here – days to get back into the swing of things, take stock of the food in our fridge, head to the grocery store, sweep up the weekend dirt that followed us inside, tackle the laundry and start daydreaming about next weekend.

How do you greet Monday? With open arms and an extra bounce in your step?

Monday, Shmunday.

Blah, blah.  Pictures always, always make me happy. So, take a gander at these beauts from a couple weekends ago.

It always helps that my two favorite people are in the pictures, especially on a Monday.

Friday Face….and More

I love going to get Maggie when she wakes up from a nap.

She kind of takes a bit to wake up and her hair really has a life of its own.

Sometimes it looks like it went on vacation while Maggie was sleeping.

It always looks like it had fun on vacation…got a bit too crazy. Maybe it was Spring Break in Mexico or something. Anywhoodle, these pictures reminded me of this guy:

his hair likes to go on vacation too.

At least we know that his hair likes to surf when it goes on vacation.

Barry’s hair looks like only part of it went on vacation and the rest of it stayed home and went to work.

Kind of like a mullet or something, except I’m pretty sure Barry doesn’t have a mullet. Thank God.

Except maybe I’d rather look at a mullet than this crazy mop. Oh, well.

If you ever decide to have a slumber party here at HBHQ, don’t say I didn’t warn you about the crazy hair that The Papa Bear and Baby Bear sport in the morning.

Happy Friday to you and yours!

The Grass is Always Greener at HBHQ

We’ve got a full day ahead of us, just as the past few days have been bursting at the seams, but I had to hop on and share a few tidbits before I get a chance to really sit down and write. Thomas & Lara came to meet up with us yesterday at the Library for story time. Turned out story time is on hold until April, so we went on a long walk and came back to HBHQ and lounged in the sun for a while.

Twinkling our toes in the green, crisp grass felt so good. I put out Sydney’s outside water dish in hopes that it’ll get to stay out until the leaves start to change again. Perhaps that is too much to hope for.

Maggie tried to convince Thomas that grass really does feel good.

He really wan’t in to the idea.

No matter which way we cut it, Thomas announced that he was not ready to tickle his toes on the grass and play kickball, baseball, or any other game.

Maggie knows how much Thomas loves to eat things and tried to coax him off the blanket by eating a stick.

Even that didn’t work. (Luckily Sydney kept him company on Blanket Island.)

Even Lara was not enough to convince him to wander off onto the grass.

Mags consoled him and told him that she too is unsure of things in this great, wild world.

And Thomas was happy.
