Dance Party @ hBhQ

We had a major dance party here at HBHQ last night. Have you heard Adele’s Rolling in the Deep song?

Well, I love it.

It just makes me want to bust a move and so tonight we cranked it up and did just that. I pranced around with Sydney in my arms and Barry carried Maggie in his Captain’s Chair. Maggie got quite a kick out of Sydney’s floating head and was cracking up during the whole song.

In other news I’ve unearthed some old pictures of Maggie that I’m drooling over, simply because they are super beautiful and also because I had forgotten I even took them. I’ve determined that she is growing up at warp speed and I have to suppress the urge to document every moment with my camera.

BUT

I sure do love that I’ve got a ton of photos of these past 10 months and I have no plans to put my camera down anytime soon; however, I suppose I could practice ‘forgetting’ it a time or two, just for the sake of living truly in the moment. I’ll work on that. Maybe.

Anyhow, our house has been full of dance parties and babies that like to wake up through out the night. It is also full of bedrooms that are blue, kitchens that are green and everything else in between.

Go get your dance on today, you’ll feel better.

P.S. When I was trying to buy a song by the artist Pink, I accidently bought Aerosmith’s song “Pink,” turns out you can dance your toosh off to that song too.

Thomas & Maggie Party it Up

We got a chance to go visit Thomas the other day and it was the first time that Thomas didn’t burst in to tears or that Maggie didn’t maul Thom in the first few seconds. Instead they were like two little peas in a pod, happy as clams, pigs in a blanket….you get the idea.

Marc and Mags get along so well, it’s kind of hilarious. I love that my child’s hair is in constant puff-mode. I realize that I randomly write about hair often, but check out Maggie’s puffy crop of hair.

Deneva is up from SD and we finally got to see her. We were hoping to last week, but with the blizzard that hit the PNW, it just wasn’t in the cards. One thing I love about Deneva is that she adores Maggie and Thomas and has no problem getting down and playing with them, as demonstrated by the fact she’s riding Thomas’ John Deere tractor.

It was so nice to get out of the house for the day, the snowiness was making us feel a bit trapped. Thanks, Larry!

P.S. The last photo is priceless. Thomas has a very sly look on his face and Maggie’s Poof Hair is acting up. Again.

Feeling Blue

This past weekend we decided to paint our bedroom and pick up some paint for our front room, something we’ve been meaning to do since we bought our house almost three years ago.

I’m not sure why it has taken us so long to finally get moving on some of these projects that could have easily been done before we had a baby. Eh, life is more exciting this way and we like to live life on the edge!!

We were able to assist Barry with the taping and Maggie spent a good portion of this time listening to the echo of her voice in the cavernous room. It was all sorts of adorable until she cranked it up a notch and our eardrums nearly split.

I can now say that I have no idea how to pick out paint and have it look the same on our walls as it does on the swatch. We were hoping for a small dusting of blueish grey; we now have a blue bedroom. As Barry painted, I wrangled Maggie and she decided to take her first steps. Yeah, she’s been taking baby steps for a while now, but she suddenly decided to take multiple steps in a row! Like 7 steps in a row!  I brought her into The Painting Zone and let her take some steps on our bed frame so Barry could witness the milestone.

By the time Barry was done painting and I was done wrangling, it was time for bed. The reality of even attempting to move things back in the room was daunting and a bit stinky. So, we camped out in our front room and literally waited for the paint to dry. I don’t have an ‘after’ photo, but things look amazingly better, if not a bit blue.
