The Help

One of the best parts of this trip is having so many helping hands with Maggie and everyone is more than happy to get some squeezes in with her when they can.  It helps to have lots of eyes on her, but what I’ve really appreciated is how I’m not the only one brag-talking about her. After Chaya had a long stretch in the car sitting in the back with Maggie, she popped out and shared a bunch of Maggie-Is-So-Smart stories.

And then there are those moments that Maggie does something ultra-cute, but also kind of naughty. For example, the other day at a rest stop where we were all enjoying a picnic lunch, Maggie proceeded to drop blueberries (possibly chewed) into the pocket of Sue’s shirt. Funny? Yes. Memorable? Of course. Gross? For sure.

More than once we’ve all had our attention on the littlest member of our group because she is doing something fantastic that demands we pause and celebrate by watching. It is the absolute best feeling in the world, as a mother, to look around the room and see love in every body’s eyes for my little girl. I can only imagine what Maggie feels when she sees a familiar face light up because she entered the room. The girl is loved, loved, loved!!!

On a side note, we’ve still got Izak. Yay!!!

Tour de Thomas

We got a chance to head to Thomas’ house today to celebrate his birthday and it got me thinking about this past year and what great buds they’ve become.  So I hit up the HB Archives and pulled some of my favorite pictures of the Dynamic Duo. Of all these shots, the one that makes me laugh out loud is the one where Maggie is pinching Thomas’ ear. He looks horrified. I’m starting not to feel as bad about Maggie pinching him all the time because today, as we were saying goodbye to the birthday boy, he bopped her on the head a few times for good measure.

Enjoy the pictures of these two…Happy Birthday, Thomas!!

A Smattering of Photos

On my desktop I’ve got some photos that have been sitting there for weeks, if not months, waiting to be acknowledged or at least dealt with. I tend to keep my computer space very clean and organized and so having these photos on my desktop is somewhat annoying to me. Today is the day that I’ve decided to do something about it.

Sometimes when I look at the random photos it feels nice to see faces of people that I love or places that we’ve been that I’ve forgotten about. Other times it reminds me how much of a growing, big girl we’ve got and every cliche in the book that goes along with growing children.

Sometimes the random pictures capture moments of tenderness and sweet friendships developing.

Other times they capture moments of captivation ~ mixed in with running gloves and PJs.

And then there are those times that are just plain self-centered and nerdy.
