Monday Morning Blues

I don’t know why I feel like Mondays are always recovery days around here – days to get back into the swing of things, take stock of the food in our fridge, head to the grocery store, sweep up the weekend dirt that followed us inside, tackle the laundry and start daydreaming about next weekend.

How do you greet Monday? With open arms and an extra bounce in your step?

Monday, Shmunday.

Blah, blah.  Pictures always, always make me happy. So, take a gander at these beauts from a couple weekends ago.

It always helps that my two favorite people are in the pictures, especially on a Monday.

The Grass is Always Greener at HBHQ

We’ve got a full day ahead of us, just as the past few days have been bursting at the seams, but I had to hop on and share a few tidbits before I get a chance to really sit down and write. Thomas & Lara came to meet up with us yesterday at the Library for story time. Turned out story time is on hold until April, so we went on a long walk and came back to HBHQ and lounged in the sun for a while.

Twinkling our toes in the green, crisp grass felt so good. I put out Sydney’s outside water dish in hopes that it’ll get to stay out until the leaves start to change again. Perhaps that is too much to hope for.

Maggie tried to convince Thomas that grass really does feel good.

He really wan’t in to the idea.

No matter which way we cut it, Thomas announced that he was not ready to tickle his toes on the grass and play kickball, baseball, or any other game.

Maggie knows how much Thomas loves to eat things and tried to coax him off the blanket by eating a stick.

Even that didn’t work. (Luckily Sydney kept him company on Blanket Island.)

Even Lara was not enough to convince him to wander off onto the grass.

Mags consoled him and told him that she too is unsure of things in this great, wild world.

And Thomas was happy.

Quick Miller Visit

Last weekend we went up to visit Barry’s parents and grandparents, as we hadn’t been up since we went up for the Cousins Dinner that Cora hosted. Maggie was a rockstar in the car, which I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but it was mighty nice to be driving in the car without a screaming child.

We got to visit a bit and Maggie showed off some of her newfound walking skills, which I’m pretty sure she takes the cake for cutest walker EVER.

Of course there were toys and books to be read….Dexter was there too, but he was too speedy to get photographed. At one point Greg and Linda were concerned that Syd might have been close to having a heart attack because Dexter was so amped up.

Aside from tugging on Dexter’s tail, Maggie couldn’t concern herself with the silly dogs because she was busy walking and reading. You know, important things.
