Amen

A few years ago on our road trip down the coast we stopped in Crescent City and wandered around the meager town. We were actually there for the 4th of July and had a grand time. There were countless signs about the Tsunami that hit the city in 1964. I laughed at the water level,  just hitting over my head, not really comprehending what it would really mean to have water destroy a town that I inhibited and shoot fear into my life.

Now, a few years later Japan’s earthquake brought tsunami warnings to places that hold people I know and love, not to mention the horrific devastation that the quake caused in Japan. Looking at the images, reading about exploding nuclear reactors is enough for me to feel heavy and count my own lucky stars.

May all be right in your world.

Out with the Truckers, Kickers & Cowboy Angels

My parents stopped by for a few hours before the really hit the road for their road trip and I’ll admit I’m a bit envious of them going on a trip. Maggie tends to still scream in the car, so a road trip might not be as relaxing with her, but going somewhere sure sounds appealing! Especially if you are hunting for sun, as my parents are.

Maggie has been wearing her sunglasses in hopes of the sun actually showing up, but of course more rain just dumps from the sky. Seriously though, this morning she wore the ridiculous sunglasses that my brother, Phil, got her all morning.

After toe-kisses, rocking horse rides, walks up and down the hallway, books read and tons and tons of snuggles, my parents hit the trail. We haven’t really left the house in the last few days and I think the excitement of having guests pushed Maggie to exhaustion. She practically fell asleep before they were out of the driveway and took a massive nap. Guess we’re still in recovery here @ HBHQ.

Thom ~ Thom and Getting Ready for G & G

Although we were unable to see Thomas Wednesday for our scheduled play date, we were able to see him for a short bit on Monday. It was a delight, as always. It is becoming more and more challenging to get pictures of these two hooligans because inevitably one of them wants to bust a move.

More later, my parents are coming to visit and we need to be ready to show them how fun it can be to push the Radio Flyer up and down the hall over and over again.
