Favorite Corner

maggie audrey readingMaggie’s room is slowly becoming my favorite room in the house. She likes being in there and it is a refreshing burst of color for anybody else that gets to spend time there. I came across both the girls quietly reading on Maggie’s bed the other day. It lasted a few minutes, and I happened to have my camera on her dresser, so I was able to snap a picture before they started a sumo wrestling match. Other things to note include Audrey’s candy corn shirt. Audrey really likes to ‘get dressed’ and once I pulled this shirt out of the Fall bin, she immediately loved it. Anytime she wears it, which is anytime it is clean, she insists on people touching the ruffle candy corn. It’s funny and sweet.

Pictures of a Mama and Her Girls

Forgotten pictures are something that are becoming ‘normal’ around here, but I’m not complaining. I found these pictures from last September of me and the girls in Leavenworth and I’m so happy to have come across them. I often say that there are never enough pictures in the world of mothers with their children doing life. Granted, these images are a bit posed, but we were certainly living it up in ole Leavenworth where our dear friends, Jeff and Allison, got hitched. At the time that these were taken I was feeling like a chubby, nursing mama. Now, when I look at them, I just see my children being held in my arms and the closeness that we obviously share.

Raisin Monster and Pug: A Year’s Difference

A year ago I was trying to make reservations on the phone for a trip to Harrison Hot Springs and I gave Audrey a bucket of raisins to let me finish the conversation. The man on the phone heard me pass them to her and told a long-winded story of how he had a raisin farm with his wife and how important he thinks raisins are for children. I agreed, but mostly think that raisins are for mamas that need to get things done sometimes. A couple days ago I was trying to get dinner ready and Audrey hijacked the bag of raisins and planted herself by my feet. As you an see, not much has changed. The Pug is still interested, Audrey loves rasins, and I was able to get a few things done. Win, win, win!
