Christmas Eve Morning at HBHQ 2013
For the record, even though I’m not in any of the pictures below (Hello, Hannah, pass the camera!!!) I really was there enjoying this special morning with my little family. Because of our crazy schedule for Christmas, we decided to exchange gifts with our girls on the morning of Christmas Eve. We’d wrapped a number of gifts from Sydney and Maggie thought it was the most hilarious thing she’d EVER heard of. Her DOG shopping, ha, ha, ha!!! Because we weren’t home for Christmas morning, Santa came to my mom and dad’s house for the girls. Later I overheard Maggie tell somebody that Santa didn’t come to her house, but Sydney did.
When Planning Time arrives next year, and it’ll come far too soon, I really want to remember how sweet and perfect this morning was. We all woke up and the girls opened their gifts and we had a special, quiet breakfast together. It was slow and really special. The picture of Maggie hugging Barry was after she opened a special necklace that we (or was it Sydney??) got her that was similar to the one she’d been borrowing of mine while she was at school to remind her that we’re always close to her heart. When she opened the necklace, she was overcome with joy and hugged both of us with gusto.
The Days Before Christmas
December seems so long ago, and really it was, and the promise of Spring is so close. Holiday Season starts for our family quite early and spreads all the way into the new year and I think that might be part of the reason that I let most of the Christmas pictures sit for such a long tine. I really haven’t made much of an effort to go through them. With that said, I pulled a few of my favorite pictures from some of the events that we either hosted or attended. Gingerbread house decorating, Nutcracker Ballet, Bell Gath, Aunties and Uncles visiting….our early December was busy. Tomorrow I’ve got Christmas Eve pictures coming with the eventual plan to bring everything back to reality around here.
