Audrey Bell: Day Twenty-Two

I’ve been very unimpressed by these last portraits – time to get back on the picture-taking wagon!! Today’s picture was from a couple that I took this morning right after Audrey woke up. She almost always wakes up happy, waits for a quick diaper change and then sits up with a super proud look on her face – and especially proud if she is lucky enough to get pulled into a standing position. Most mornings Maggie sunggles her while I pad around the house taking care of morning business, grabbing a diaper from the other room, etc. Audrey spends this time squealing and doing the Happy Baby pose. When I shoved the camera in her face, instead of hugging and kissing her, Audrey looked at me like I’d lost it.

These last few Barry has been out of town and I am not joking when I say this: Single parenting is not for the weary. I miss my husband in a kazillion different ways and I’m pretty sure we’re all going to tackle him with hugs and kisses when he walks through the door. I could go on and on. I am a capable, strong woman, but having a partner in life/crime makes everything so much better.

Nighty Night.

Audrey Bell: Day Twenty

We spent quite a bit of time on the Interurban trail today chasing after Barry and Maggie as they rode on their tricycles and skate boards. This picture was taken at the park where Audrey rode in the swing for the first time ever. Although she looks unsure in the photo, all other signs pointed to the fact that she might be a bit of a baller as she grows up! She loved it! I picked this picture because it is one of the few that I’ve ever taken of Audge-Podge with her mouth almost closed. Also, both Barry and I are feeling really proud about Maggie riding her bike so far today. She got super sweaty and was determined not to have any help. It should be noted that she rode her bike with her tutu on…..love her. Barry was such a proud papa as well, I can only imagine when all of us can be on wheels what his excitement level will be. I’m excited as well, it felt like today was a glimpse into our future. Yay for being active as a family!
