Picking a Bone

Since Maggie is now very mobile and crawling up  a storm, Sydney has been forced to take into consideration the location of where she enjoys chewing on her bones. Up until this point it has been okay for Syd to chew on her bone within arm’s reach; however, yesterday we discovered that with Maggie’s new found wheels, Syd’s life has changed as well.

Maggie turns into a Pleased Little Pumpkin as soon as she gets her mitts on the bone and Sydney just stares at her, astonished. I think this is just the beginning of  moments like this, or perhaps Syd will figure it out. In that case, I’m sure Maggie will discover something else just as fascinating.

Knitting Machine

My Mom has turned in to a knitting machine, With each creation she produces, my desire to learn to knit grows a bit more. I’m not totally convinced that this is the time in my life to learn a new hobby that involves balls of yarn, however.

Maggie was able to help my mom out a few for a few hours while we were all visiting 3G and fell in love with winding her fingers through the balls of yarn and pulling them apart.

I’m thankful that my mom isn’t one of those wild knitters – and you know they are out there (!) –  that gets upset when a darling baby messes up the balls of yarn that were so splendidly organized.

Instead, she just keeps on knitting right through the chaos that a Hooligan named Maggie causes.

Once in a while she’ll stop knitting to ensure that the hat fits just right and Maggie is a perfect model.

Well, perfect in the sense of the word that she knows how to take the hat off.

Sometimes Maggie pulls the hat on her head when she’s really trying to get it off….funny stuff, at least to me.

Anyhow, you get the point: Fidget went and turned into a knitting machine and Maggie is her helper.

Honestly, she has two helpers, but one looks a bit more pitiful than the other.

Did you spot Mopey the Pug?

I think she wants a hat or something….to cover up those wrinkles, of course!

Hi-Ho It’s Off to Glacier We Go!

We survived Thanksgiving through the exploding Pyrex dish, broken pipe, piles of snow and the power going out. We were thankful for some very basic things. It was an eventful day, but more on that later.

On Friday we went up to Glacier to surprise Tyler for his birthday. He turned the big 3-0 and, although we weren’t there for the surprise part, he had no idea that we were all meeting up to celebrate him! Joey did a fantastic job coordinating.

Barry and the boys got to dote upon Maggie and the following sequence of pictures is really funny. Keep your eye out for a chubby Pug:

I like the fact that Sydney saw her moment to shine and she moved on in, plus Bahl obviously thinks it is a-okay because he decided to give the two thumbs up.

But Jeff is kind of like that – a two thumbs up type of guy. He ran into Tyler at a gas station randomly shortly before Tyler was to arrive at the cabin to be surprised. Bahl hatched a little white-lie to keep the surprise from being discovered. Two thumbs up, right?  Bahl give two thumbs up to the Huskies, funny pictures, and his sweet, sweet girlfriend, Allison, who was with her family and not at the cabin.

Eventually Maggie started to suggest that it was time to go by yelling in Joe’s face. Thankfully he has to nephews and so he was able to tolerate her screaming. Joe and Claire (not pictured, sadly) are getting hitched in a few weeks and Barry is in their wedding. Claire was wondering if the bridal party should do a fun dance at the wedding. Barry is a mover and a shaker, so I volunteered that he would love, love, love to do a fun dance. I may have gotten dagger eyed from Barry, but I survived.

We left the cabin and headed to the Miller/Rhone compound for a good night’s rest….so great to see some of our very favorite people*.

*Kurbbie, we missed you.
