Halloween 2013.

Finally the 31st of October is here and we can wear our costumes all day long!! Maggie decided long ago that she wanted to be a pumpkin….and Audrey is a lady bug because that’s what we thought would be the cutest. Turns out we were right! Cutest lady bug and pumpkin around!! Don’t mind the fact that Audrey took her shoe off and chucked it behind her right before we took the picture. Just know that when Audrey sees Barry, she waves at him with that cute little smile on her face. Totally a Papa’s  little girl.

Last week we went to Harrison Hot Springs for a few days and right after we crossed over into Canada we stopped at a farm, as recommended to us by my parents and brother. It was a perfect place to eat lunch, pet some animals and run around. Since nobody else was around, and the backdrop was stunning, I asked Maggie if she wanted to take a picture of us. She jumped (literally) at the chance to use my camera. That said, I’m pretty impressed with some of the shots that she got. It’s weird to have a family photo without her in it, but I think I learned the lesson that I should let her take more pictures. It was funny to hear her chirp out orders to us about where to stand and what to do. She’s picked up a lot from me….not sure that’s a great thing.

And because she wasn’t in the family photo, I’ll include this shot from yesterday. My mom made the gorgeous quilt in the background and has requested that we return it to her so she can enjoy it. I hung it on the back of a table and had the girls sit in front of it. Maggie was in such a funny mood, laughing a ton, that I got a ton of beautiful pictures of her smiling. Two things to note:

1. Her hair. It is out of control. I love it, but it is WORK. If one day you see her out and about and she’s rocking dread locks, it’s because I have given up.

2. She likes to wear my necklace to school. Barry gave it to me and it’s one of my favorite pieces of jewelry….it has become something that she wears when she’s at school, but yesterday she told me that she used the heart ‘like a cookie cutter’ in the play dough. Ummmm……not what I had in mind, chica!
