Maggie,
You are one month old today! Your dad and I love you so much and we’re so glad that you are here. To your dad and me you seem so big already! No longer do you fit into newborn clothes – you are already wearing 3 month PJs. Seems like you might be a tall, tall girl!
Your favorite thing to do right now is to ride around in the Baby Bjorn close to somebody’s chest. Your dad has been taking you on early morning walks around the neighborhood while I get some rest because you seem to be a night owl. Your big blue eyes are like headlights during the 2 o’clock hour.
You also love to spend time looking out the window on your changing table, taking baths, riding in your swing and being outside next to the pond. Sometimes when you are fussy we take you into the bathroom and run the bath water, rushing water always calms you down. I hope this means that you’ll love being in the water as much as your dad and I do. I can’t wait to kick, kick, kick in the pool and ocean with you!
All of your grandparents come and visit often. I don’t think they can get enough of you – they all want to hold you close and tell you how much they love you. Both Grammy and Nana have spent the whole night holding you while you either looked around or snoozed.
Eddie Vedder’s voice and Jewel’s Lullaby album soothe you. When we read books you really don’t like “There Was an Old Lady That Swallowed a Fly” but love “Goodnight Moon.” We’ll keep reading and singing, eventually you can join in.
Sometimes you flash us your dimples, but right now your eyes are filled with wonder and consume your face as you look around. Again, we’re so glad you are here.
You are so loved.

Beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.
I agree, absolutely beautiful. I love this little family 🙂
What a special slideshow you have made!!! Carter loved it. He thinks Barry is his dada though. He even insisted and yelled it at me when I tried to tell him that was Maggie’s daddy. Whatever. 🙂 Forgive him…he’s currently 2 and shows it in every way!!!
Oh this song…everytime this song…now I have to go find a kleenex…amazing video!
One of my all time favorite songs (“Give Yourself to Love”) by one of my alll time favorite singers (Kate Wolf) with one of my all time favorite sweetie pies (Maggie Mae). If you really are wondering where she got blue eyes…check out my Elvrum eyes– “Blue as the western sky” as Grandpa will tell you! Those Norwegian genes are tough. Watch out here comes Rough Tough Maggie Mae!
