Now that Maggie has wheels of her own, she is constantly on the move. I decided to try and document things for a few hours the other day. Just ignore the blurry-bad-lighting shots and imagine they are beauts, okay? Okay.
We were getting ready to go on a walk and she was able to combine two hobbies: playing with shoe laces and happily screaming.
I just wanted to get my shoes on, but sometimes letting her play is just as much fun as anything else we might have up our sleeves.
After we got her shoes on, she wanted to test them out while standing next to the table – her latest hangout.
Hat on? Check. It is January, you know.
THEN WE WENT FOR A WALK AND I TOOK ZERO PICTURES. One of the joys in my life is to NOT wrangle a baby, a Pug AND a camera. I’ll leave that to the pros.
When we got home from the walk, the hat and shoes instantly came off because both can be distracting when you’re trying to pull on a Pug. Syd has become a lot more tolerant of Maggie as of late.
After Sydney had enough, Maggie decided that she was going to head down the hall to our new-fangled den to see what was happening. It was at that moment that she flashed me the peace sign and yelled “Peace Out, Mama!”
I decided to follow and see what she was up to.
We’re in the middle of revamping that room and so we had stacks of books and CDs that were of interest to The Mags.
She WAS interested in the CDs for about a nanosecond, but decided to move on over to our ugly plant and pull on the leaves. The above picture was snapped at the same moment that I realized that she was EATING the plant. I put the camera down at that moment and promptly dug out part of the plant from her mouth. So awesome.
After the plant eating incident it was nap time. Again, I didn’t take pictures of this because napping at our home involves me cuddling and holding a sweet, sweet baby and so it is impossible to document such perfectness. Sorry.
Up from her nap and at her favorite hang out – again. I’m telling you, if you ever wonder what Maggie is doing or where she is, she is most likely standing under the table and squealing. Just this morning while Barry and I were enjoying our pancakes she stood under the table and ‘talked’ to us the entire meal.
My mom pointed out that Maggie is pretty careful about getting herself down from the standing position.
What my mom failed to mention – although I am quite sure she is well aware – is that it takes Maggie less than a second for her to shoot off like a cannon towards something intriguing.
In this case it was the vacuum cord.
Later it was junk mail….
and books.
Quick talk with Dad around the dinner table about our day…
and once the jammies go on, we sometimes hope that Little Miss Busy Body will tone down the exploring, but on this day she decided to climb on one of our side tables.
Eventually Mags was ready to call it a day, but I’m telling you, a crawling child can be exhausting. I can only imagine what it’ll be like once she starts walking.
Or running.
Or sprinting.
Or….
