Me Sit Pretty

We’ve had a little situation going on with the chair in our office/guest room for a few years now and we finally got enough steam to get a movin’ on the whole project. It was actually pretty easy and we’re super pleased with the results.

From start to finish the project took a few hours of our time,a tiny bit of money and a trip to the fabric store. Oh, and we had to go to Ace Hardware also, but we kind of like to check in on those guys from time to time anyhow.

Maggie was very interested in the power tools and was helpful to a certain degree. Barry worked to pull out all the staples so that we could update the cushion and make it more of a comfortable place to sit.

I worked to make the straps a bit more snug. I must admit, I LOVE our new staple gun and if you need anything stapled, call me. I’ll show up with our new stapler because it is very, very powerful. Barry must really love me because he let me do all the stapling and I was happy as a little clam.

Barry and Maggie inspected the new shape I cut out of foam. Turns out I did a pretty good job, they approved.

We also added some batting, but didn’t take a picture of that step. We did, however, get a picture of the tug-and-staple dance that we got to do for the final step. I was a bit staple happy and Barry kept saying “whoa, whoa!’

Again, Maggie checked and showed her approval. The cushion is WAY more comfortable than the other one that was flat as the pumpkin pancakes we had for breakfast in Leavenworth.

Comparing the two, it is obvious how in need we were of a change. What in the world took us so long?

Wayyyyyyy better.

And just in case you were worried about what Maggie was doing while we were making our chair beautiful….well, the above picture about captures it. More on that later. Maybe.
