The Work Can Wait

It was a full, full weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday were filled with friends and family stopping by. We got to see so many faces we don’t get to see nearly enough.

By the end of the day today Maggie was tuckered out and had a a mash of blueberries, strawberries, dirt and whatever else crusted and smeared across her face, proving that she loves weekends just as much as the rest of us.  I’d have it no other way, and by the looks of the sun kissed face of my husband, he too was in the same boat.

As Barry and I sat on our back stoop tonight, taking in the last bits of daylight, we realized that we hadn’t gotten a smidgen of yard work done or any of the errands checked off our list. Oops.We both decided that we’re thankful that we have a home in which people feel welcome enough to stop by and visit, the weeds and errands certainly aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
