When we purchased HBHQ there were many things about it that we loved; the yard, front room, fire places, etc. As summer came we were able to have different groups of friends and family over. Having a large yard and patio space made this easy and relaxing.
As soon as the weather started to get cold, and we began spending more and more time indoors, Barry and I realized that there was something left to be desired in our TV room. Not only was it ugly, it was not relaxing. I have never, ever claimed to know a thing or two about interior decorating…but, boy-oh-boy, this was painfully bland. Change was necessary.
Thus, we decided to start painting. Orange was our color of choice. It came as no surprise to me that the instant we started painting I wanted to be done and started rushing. Barry, on the other hand, was so methodical, steady and non-messy. It inspired me to put some graffiti on our last white wall. How third grade, right?
As Barry mentioned here, we had a bit of an issue getting a new couch. Following the couch debacle we spent many nights sitting on the hardwood floors watching the tube or, most often, ignoring the Orange Room all together.
Until about two weeks ago.
Another couch arrived on our stoop.
The guy said it wouldn’t fit, even before he got the couch out of the truck. I told him that I was very confident that it would fit. I was lying when I said that. I was actually worried that we’d forever be doomed to watch TV in the doomed Orange Room eating small things that fit through the doorway. (Yes, I used the word doomed twice. That’s how doomed I felt.)
Luckily it fit.
Now I can invite anyone and their mama over. Except I want to have my mama come over first. She’s in Hawaii, so you and your mama will have to wait.
it looks really nice
