No Shoes, No Service!

I lMamasitaove it when our gardener and landscape designer come to town. I finally can let my eradication dreams come true since I’m finally informed about what qualifies as a weed and what doesn’t.

Saturday night we went to see Riders in the Sky with my parents, Sue, Steve, and Grandma and Grandpa Elvrum. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but they were quite funny old men, not to mention the fact that they’ve been playing music together for 31.5 years! Very polished routine. I sometimes wonder what would have happened had I stuck with the violin.

After the show we attempted to have a bbq outside, but the weather just wasn’t cooperating. One thing I love about our house is the fact that people actually want to stay and enjoy it! My grandpa would always demand to leave at previous places I’ve lived, but now he’ll sit and talk home improvement, one of his passions!grandpa It should be noted, that he approves of our new door! Yee-haw!

Today, we hopped on the train and went and saw the Mariners win in the 13th inning! Longest. game. ever. Here’s a side note about my family related to long baseball games:

One time my dad and brother(s?) went to see the Mariners play a game. Going to Seattle involves driving and spending the day walking around. Somehow, don’t ask me how, Izak managed to get himself into the car and all the way to the Kingdome before he realized that fliphe had no shoes on. (Please keep in mind that Izak was a teenager, not a child.)

What do you do if you have no shoes on and you’re supposed to go to the M’s game?   You go to the game, of course!

The best part of the story?  It was a 19 inning baseball game. Legend has it they gave out free coffee to those that remained in the stands. Poor Izak had to wear tube socks for 19 innings. My feet would have been cold, but he’s a tough sailor!

So, today we went to the game, but we were all wearing shoes. It was only 13 innings long so no free coffee for us, not that we’d drink it…if it was a soy milk chai tea, you might convince me.

  1. And my whole fiasco transpired at Safeco Field, not the Kingdome, which doesn’t change my faulty ploy to get some new shoes and wear ’em off the lot rather then tote them around all game like a rube.
