Pictures

I’ve been going through old and random pictures lately and have really had a fantastic time looking at the different styles that everyone has gone through. Remember the neon colors? Super short shorts for guys and huge bangs for girls? Phil and I were cracking our selves up last night looking at some hilarious ones of our family. I’m saving those for another project.

Summer is Finally Here

We’ve been anticipating the arrival of summer for some time now, and it seems that it’s finally showing itself. Why not celebrate with a little BBQ you ask? What a great idea! That’s exactly what we did last Saturday evening. Hannah had a tea party at Sue’s in the afternoon and we BBQ’d later that day. I saw limes at Costco earlier that day, so fresh squeezed Margaritas were the signature drink for the night.

Joe worked the barbecue while the rest of us worked on critiquing his technique. I think he got it mostly right, because by the end of the night all of the chicken was gone, and it looked like Kurt had put on a little weight.

Poor David Sedaris

One of my favorite things about summer is being able to read again. Of course I read during the school year, but I move at such a slow pace it really is embarrassing. My book club decided to read the new David Sedaris book, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, which is a perfect way to kick off my summer reading.

It turns out that my book group is needing to meet this week in order to have everybody attend. That means that I’ve been having to read at warp speed to finish on time. In my rush to finish, I have been leaving my glossy new book carelessly around the house. I came home yesterday to discover that my gorgeous, new book was no longer gorgeous or new looking. I was slightly heartbroken because I secretly love the look and smell of new books.

It didn’t take much to figure out what happened to my book.
