Birthday Planning with an Almost 3 Year Old

April will forever be Maggie’s month (sorry Dad & Geneviève!) since it is the month of her arrival and I so clearly remember being pregnant with her as the weather turned from Winter to Spring. Her birthday falls in the second half of the month and so that means that the 20 days of anticipation leading up to it, have been marked by excitement and preparations. This is the first year that she really understands what’s to come. For the past month or so she has shared with us a very clear plan that she has in her head and she hasn’t wavered from it.  I’m not sure what her inspiration is, but she has stuck by the plan of having ‘marchers’ at her birthday. We’re having a small family gathering and I’m thankful that we’ve got a musical family because it’d be a major disappointment to her if we didn’t have marchers!
