My grandpa and his five siblings gathered together to celebrate his sister’s birthday last month. He asked me to come and take a few pictures of the occasion and I’m finally getting a moment to go through them. It’s pretty amazing that all six siblings are alive and able to travel, considering various ages and health concerns. Three of the six live out of state, so there as a significnant amount of travel involved. But for family, an effort was put forth and they all enjoyed being together in a unique and special way.
I love these portraits. Squishy babies, happy weddings, and lovey-dovey couples saturate the photography market…because it’s so easy to feel the love for those moments. But, really, older people shouldn’t shy away from the camera. These pictures, soul-filled eyes and wrinkles, have a different story to tell. I’m a firm believer that everybody has a story, and these pictures speak to me in a loud, silly, family-filled Elvrum type of way.
stunning, Hannah.
Oh H, these are marvelous. You captured the depth and wisdom that only age can offer. It’s so important to share stories at every stage of life. These are perfect and very moving. Plus, love gpa’s sweater vest.
