Maggie’s Fifth Month by hannah
Mags,
The fifth month of your life has been a big one: rolling over, almost sitting up on your own and getting a couple teeth! Way to go, Little One! Of course time seems to have flown by and your dad and I can’t believe how old you are. You seem to be the most social one in our family, not wanting to be left out of any conversation or activity. Hollering from another room, wanting to even watch us brush our teeth or empty the trash.
While we eat our dinner you still sit in your Bumbo on the table and tell us about your day, we love it and find ourselves laughing at you because you get so fired up. I took you to a baby shower for Sweet Caroline and you stood on my knees almost the whole time squealing in delight to the room full of strangers; again, not wanting to be left out of the activities surrounding you.
You got lots of play time with other babies this month, but I think you mostly liked rolling around and chewing on stuff. Maybe next time you’ll be more interested in your playmates. While we were on Whidbey Island celebrating your dad’s 30th birthday your first tooth showed up! It feels like a little pebble of sand in your mouth. I’m actually glad it showed up because I was wondering why you were so fussy and not wanting to sleep.
At Nana’s house you rolled over from back to front a few times while Nana and I cheered you on. You’ve only done it a handful of times since and usually when nobody is watching. You’re starting to somewhat enjoy your tummy time and wiggling to get something, but your favorite activity continues to be to stand. We’re working on getting you to pull yourself up.
As the story has gone, when I sit to type, I hear you stirring awake and wanting to know what’s going on. Sydney is curled up next to you sleeping and maybe her snores woke you up. Perhaps that tooth of yours is wanting to do a bit of work….still not letting you rest.
You continue to be so loved.
Mom
